A Fantastic Fear of Everything

Who does not want to see Simon Pegg in dirty tighty whiteys with a knife glued to his hand? I would actually have to say a lot of people. It is a bit disturbing but it leads to a hilarious look into a paranoid writers mind. Jack is facing an interview for his new book about historic murders in England trying to sell it to an American T.V. producer. Jack is just afraid to leave his house and the only thing that he is more afraid of is the laundromat. Simon Pegg's performance as a not so graceful rap loving orphan trying to break out of his children's book norm and it all leads to him overcoming his fear of everything.
Tighty Whiteys
The music in this movie is fantastic with everything from In a Gadda Da Vita to Fuck Shit Stack which is only on for a couple of seconds but its clearly Reggie Watts. The color scale ranges from dark and foreboding to psychedelic and fluorescent. With acid trips disguised as therapy sessions and basements of wannabe murders you really feel bad for Jack and relate to his paranoia. The camera work also leads to quite a few surprises concealing a huge surprise in appearance and wonderful stop motion hedgehogs.
Rating this I would give it an 8/10 it was entertaining and odd. Full of surprises I would absolutely watch this movie again!

Soloman Kane

This movie is my first post and hopefully it gets better from here!
Soloman Kane is exactly what I am looking for in a movie. Weird, Based off of short stories, and full of bad acting. The choreography in this movie was pretty good. The fight scenes felt pretty BA, but the acting fell flat. Soloman is a Sea Captain in the 18th century trying to redeem his soul from the devil so if you are looking for swords and flintlock pistols this is what you want to watch (or Pirates of the Caribbean). The flight scenes are violent and bloody with Soloman always ending up on top even when the fight features him hiding behind columns from a giant fire demon.
(Giant Fire Demon)
The whole movie is an allegory for Christ and Redemption. Well Kind of, I don't think christ ever fought zombies but whatever. This movie probably went over in the christian community as well as Noah did. At one point they even crucify Soloman and he rips his hands off of the nails and falls to the ground just to go and fight the main antagonist the next day. If I had to make a list of the top 10 most badass movie heros he would absolutely be up there! (spoiler) The only person to actually injure him is his magically healed brother.
Soloman Kane gets 6/10 because the fighting and action sequences are pretty awesome but the acting and dialogue is a little cheesy and overdone. Kane pulled off the bad superhero movie genre pretty well but wasn't bad enough to be a cult classic.
I have been thinking of making this blog for a long time and now I finally am!
This is going to be a mish mosh of movies I want to see, have seen, or are currently watching. I love watching odd ball movies, bad movies and just strange movies. I get excited about watching movies. I can lay awake at night thinking about a movie I really want to watch the next day. This is going to be how I feel about these movies and maybe a rating or two. Suggestions for movies are always welcome too.
